We are in Torre Salsa, a marine reserve and WWF oasis, one of the last stretches of uncontaminated and still intact coast in Europe. Here the native vegetation dominates with over 20 species of wild orchid. Blue clay, limestone stratifications and wonderful cliffs of white marl overlooking the sea form this splendid ecosystem, nesting area for Caretta Caretta turtles, a species at risk of extinction due to human action and microplastics in the sea (150k turtles per year are caught, 80% of the turtles monitored had ingested plastic waste, WWF data). The kayak tour takes place into the marine reserve, paddling along the white marl cliffs that form Mount Stella. During navigation, you will enjoy the wonderful multicolored seabed dominated by the presence of oceanic posidonia and the spectacular wild panoramas of the reserve, which extends for over 6 km. The feeling of being in a primordial and unique environment will accompany you throughout the tour, during which we will reach the beach of the reserve with our kayaks. Here will have time to admire this piece of uncontaminated nature, take some photos and take a swim, with the possibility of spotting some birds such as the kestrel or the peregrine falcon. This guided tour with an instructor guide is also suitable for beginners in their first kayaking experience. A good predisposition for physical activity is required. The tour lasts approximately 2h30min and start with a briefing about information on paddling techniques, safety warnings and details of the programme. Included in the cost is a drybag for storing personal items, which you can take with you during the tour. Rental of snorkeling masks and fins (not included) is available on site.

Good kayaking trip
We booked this the night before the trip (3 of us) and our guide met us and provided lifejackets etc. We paddled down the coast along the Marine Reserve area and stopped at a couple of beaches and had a swim and headed back. Weather was pretty good, not that warm by the end, but I don't think we can blame Aggrigento Kayak for that :-) There is a nice bar where you meet the guide, so if you turn up early or have time to spare at the end, you can enjoy some nice drinks (maybe food too, but we didn't explore that). Basically it was good value for the money spent and we went home happy! They have a good car park.
