What happens in case of bad weather?
Outdoor activities are always affected by weather conditions. Last-minute cancellations are possible. Cancellations by our organization always entitle you to a full refund of the deposit. To know the policy about bad weather visit the "Assistance" page, "Reservations" section.
Can I reach the excursion location by public transport?
You can reach the meeting point of this excursion by train or bus from Catania or other locations. You can view transport services of Ferrovia Circumetnea company.
Can children participate?
Yes, this excursion is also open to children as long as they are used to get mountain hikes.
What is the altitude reached during this trek?
This excursion reaches a maximum altitude of 2100 meters following part of the Pernicana volcanic rift, from which generated the destructive eruption of 2002. This excursion talks of the most interest volcanological and geological aspects, and remains at an altitude of 2100 meters to also observe the naturalistic side of Etna, represented by the pioneer vegetation. If you want reach the summit you can book the summit tour, an activity not suitable for who are not used to walking on steep paths at an altitude more than 3,000 meters. Half-day tour on Mount Etna for all guys who love adventure!
Huge craters, eruptive fractures, a lot of fun during the descent from a lava sand path with amazing views of the sea: get ready to take a lot of likes pictures on Instagram!
The track doesn’t need particular physical preparation and it is suitable for everyone, sportive and less trained. During the first part of the path we will see one of the most dangerous lava flows of Etna, discovering with our eyes the destructive power of the volcano. We will walk on the edge of craters with amazing panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and Taormina bay.
The second part of the excursion will be dedicated to explore a cave: the exploration will be done in complete safety, with helmets and torches provided by the guide

⛔ Restrictions
This activity is not suitable for pregnant women and for people with respiratory or cardiac diseases. Is it possible have vertigo feeling in some part of the trail.

Length: 5 km; Elevation gain +150 meters; Max elevation reached: 2100 meters.
🕒 How long does it last?
This experience lasts 4-hours and start in the morning, afternoon and based on the season at the sunset too. You can choose departure time during booking selecting the favorite one.

🥾 Recommended clothing
We recommend sportswear with closed sports shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, windproof jacket. In winter, mountain clothing appropriate to the season.

Not required skills. Kids have to be able to walk by yourself on a mountain track.
