Activity description
The electric mountain bike tour in Agrigento takes you through the Torre Salsa Nature Reserve, into one of the most fascinating coastal landscapes in southern Sicily. Torre Salsa is one of the last untouched and truly wild stretches of Italian coastline. Here, sand dunes alternate with impressive gypsum cliffs shaped by wind and sea, while Mediterranean scrub defines the soft outlines of the inland hills.
Within the reserve, a WWF Oasis has been created to protect the nesting area of the Caretta caretta sea turtle, a species native to the Mediterranean and currently at risk of extinction. This makes Torre Salsa not only a place of beauty, but also an area of great environmental importance.
The route follows scenic trails inside the reserve, offering constant views over the coastline. The first part of the tour includes mostly downhill and dirt sections, allowing you to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the cliffs rising above the sea. As you approach the beach, the landscape becomes more raw and natural, leading you to the first coastal dunes, which play a crucial role in protecting marine ecosystems. The vegetation is typically Mediterranean, and with a bit of luck you may also spot local wildlife along the way.
The route has no technical difficulties and is suitable even for those with no previous mountain biking experience.

Where is the starting point?
To take part you will have to reach the meeting point marked below on your own. We remind you this is an approximate point, after confirmation you will receive an email with detailed instructions to partecipate. If you don't have you can book the tour with transfer included, be carefull about pick-up area available.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Outdoor activities are always affected by weather conditions. Last-minute cancellations are possible. Cancellations by our organization always entitle you to a full refund of the deposit. To know the policy about bad weather visit the "Assistance" page, "Reservations" section.
How pick-up service works?
If you don not have a car, you can book the tour with transfer included (pick-up and drop-off) only if you're staying in the area between the Valley of the Temples, Agrigento, San Leone, and Villaggio Mosè. Pick-up outside this area is not available.
What type of e-bike will I ride?
The e-bikes used for the tour are ROCKRIDER E-EXPL 700, 29” electric mountain bikes designed to handle dirt roads and elevation changes with ease. The BROSE T mid-drive motor (70 Nm) provides smooth and natural assistance, adapting to your pedaling effort and making uphill sections easier and the ride more comfortable. The integrated 630 Wh battery ensures long range and reliable performance throughout the tour. A 130 mm suspension fork, wide tires, and hydraulic disc brakes offer excellent control, comfort, and safety on different types of terrain.

This eBike excursion has a "High" sustainability rating as no emission during the activity. While microfragments of rubber may be released due to normal tire wear, their minimal impact is not considered significant. The quietness of electric motors eliminates noise pollution, and since the trail follows the normal track, the surrounding flora and fauna remain undisturbed.

Fantastic experience
Reservation was easily made by whatsapp. Bike rental shop was easy to find, good bikes, nice experience. Hated to descend on these roads but when there is climbing there is descending….part of the deal
